M.I.T.’s communication-intensive offering of Real Analysis was created in the Fall of 2009 by Joel Lewis, Craig Desjardins, Susan Ruff, and Hans Christianson. It has been refined by subsequent recitation instructors: Todd Kemp, Mohammed Abouzaid, Peter Speh, and Kyle Ormsby. At M.I.T., Real Analysis is typically taken by sophomores and provides many students’ first exposure to proof writing.
